FREE EVENT for the family Dear Parents, Please take a few moments to participate in the 2020 Family Climate Survey today. This RRISD survey is the primary way that we get information from parents across the district regarding what they like about their children’s schools and the things that could be better. The results are used as part of the Gattis campus improvement planning (CIP) process as well as to ensure academic programs and the campus environment meet the needs of all children. You are a critical part of our success! A few things to keep in mind: the parent survey is the shortest of climate surveys taking only 1-5 minutes; the survey is anonymous; submit a separate survey for each RRISD student ; the survey is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, or Korean by clicking on the drop-down menu on the top right corner of the introduction page; and, participating will help make our campus community a better place. The survey will only be available for a short time. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020RRISDFamilySurvey Tips to Stay Healthy It is very important to wash your hands , especially after blowing their nose, before and after eating, after using bathroom and after recess/PE. Watch this video to see how to properly wash your hands. Hand Washing Video Students should remain home when they have: A fever of 100 degrees or more. A fever along with a rash, earache, sore throat, or nausea may indicate a highly contagious infection. Children must be fever- free for 24 hours before returning to school (without the aid of medication). A persistent, productive cough and wheezing together with thick or constant nasal discharge. Persistent vomiting and diarrhea (more than once) during the previous night. To prevent the spread of a contagious disease, ill students must be symptom free from vomiting, diarrhea, etc. An un-diagnosed rash, especially coupled with a fever and behavioral changes. Pinkeye in which there is a white or yellow discharge, often with matted eyelids after sleep, and eye pain, redness or itching. Head lice. Once head lice have been treated and there are no more live lice, the student has to be cleared by the school nurse and then may return to school. Students cannot return until all lice are treated and removed. Strep throat, scarlet fever, measles, chickenpox or any other communicable disease until released by a doctor. Any physical or emotional condition that would prevent him / her from participating comfortably in class. Whether your child is gearing up for a new year, transferring to Round Rock ISD from another school district, or starting school for the first time, the information on this page can help you make the transition a smooth one. Registration and Enrollment Page New to RRISD Bus Routes Food Services Enews Communication Supply Lists 2019-2020 School Hours, Breakfast Service Times & Late Arrivals Doors open at 7:00 am each morning . Please make every attempt to get your child to school on time. I would suggest you aim for 7:30 to allow them plenty of time to get to their classroom. The required school hours are 7:40 am – 2:55 pm. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am – 7:35 am. Students must arrive prior to 7:35 in order to get breakfast. Class begins at 7:40 am. It is very important for your child to be in the classroom at 7:40 am when our school day begins. If they are NOT in the CLASSROOM at 7:40 am they are counted as tardy. If this becomes a chronic issue, you will be contacted by Mrs. Lucas or Mrs. Nilson to discuss the circumstances, and come up with a plan to help get your child to school on time. When students arrive at school late can impact them for the rest of the day. They have missed out on important information and learning opportunities when they arrive late. Join the PTA We are so excited for this 2019-2020 school year! This is just a friendly reminder to renew your PTA membership for this school year. It is 5$/person to join, and it is free for teachers and staff. Here are a couple of ways that you can sign up. In Person: Visit our PTA table at school events and pick up one of our PTA membership forms. Fill it out. Hand it to one of our wonderful PTA volunteers and bring exact change OR drop off your money later at the front desk in an envelope labeled with your name and “FOR PTA MEMBERSHIP”.
